2019-10-21 17:40:30 UTC

College is useless

2019-10-21 17:40:39 UTC

Might as well be free

2019-10-21 17:40:46 UTC

Dammit. I don’t want that shit. I pay a union to get me great fucking healthcare I don’t want the government fucking it up <:why:462286147473637407>

2019-10-21 17:40:52 UTC

some college is less useless than others

If go to college just to go to college ~~ and your parents aren’t paying for it~~ you are kinda a dumbass

2019-10-21 17:41:48 UTC

She's "popular" with the right more because she's willing to actually talk to the right rather than the <:REE:541208936330821646> -ing that most of the dems do.
Plus she's anti-war and has served, both of which are pluses in the populist right's book.
In actuality they'd never vote for her, but she'd be viewed as a far more tolerable dem than pretty much all the others, almost entirely because she views the right's existence as tolerable.

2019-10-21 17:42:00 UTC

If it's less useless then you won't mind paying extra for it, but as it currently stands the system prays upon young idiots and boomers being sold a rose tinted view of college education

2019-10-21 17:42:07 UTC

We are post information scarcity

2019-10-21 17:42:28 UTC

you go to college to get a degree tho

2019-10-21 17:42:31 UTC

unless youre rich

2019-10-21 17:42:33 UTC

MOMMY MILKIES RISE UP

2019-10-21 17:42:38 UTC

and the degree is to get an associated job

2019-10-21 17:42:43 UTC

Go to trade school or look into certifications. Great cheap way to start a career

2019-10-21 17:43:06 UTC

and completely different than university started careers

2019-10-21 17:43:09 UTC

those exist by the way

2019-10-21 17:43:10 UTC

imagine thinking half of the nation you live in is the enemy... what a sad existence lol

2019-10-21 17:43:15 UTC

Unless that degree is in STEM or is at least STEM-adjacent, it's not worth the paper it's printed on tbh

2019-10-21 17:43:20 UTC

and are completely valid lines of employment

2019-10-21 17:43:20 UTC

I went to college to get a degree, it took forever because i refused to take out loans. Now i have my reward, 2 useless degrees and no credit

2019-10-21 17:43:27 UTC

well it depends

2019-10-21 17:43:37 UTC

even psychology can be valuable after a fashion

2019-10-21 17:43:42 UTC
2019-10-21 17:43:43 UTC

Free/cheap trade schools is something I wouldn't object to. But not collages in their current state.

2019-10-21 17:43:43 UTC

sociology is always worthless

2019-10-21 17:43:47 UTC

but mental health is a big deal

2019-10-21 17:43:51 UTC

if you have a high enough degree

2019-10-21 17:44:00 UTC

likewise behavioral studies

2019-10-21 17:44:02 UTC

Sociology is a marketing degree in disguise

2019-10-21 17:44:04 UTC

and stuff along those lines

2019-10-21 17:44:22 UTC

@leavethisbotnet they don’t need to be free since they are pretty cheap to begin with. Just take out a loan and pay it off when you use the knowledge you earn there

2019-10-21 17:44:26 UTC

Free trade schools are what unions were supposed to do

2019-10-21 17:44:35 UTC

unions werent supposed to do anything

2019-10-21 17:44:47 UTC

Giving it out for free takes away the responsibility of it

2019-10-21 17:44:47 UTC

the original conception of a union is nothing like the abortions they are today

2019-10-21 17:44:58 UTC

Psychology is something I'd consider STEM-adjacent; if you can avoid the politics it's based on patterns and something approximating scientific rigor

2019-10-21 17:45:00 UTC

unions are like medieval guilds

2019-10-21 17:45:03 UTC

except more corrupt
