@n0ne0ther jewrules don't apply to christians and were never intended to
That has nothing to do with being achristian.
This is basic psychology
things like that are once again, literal minded, and also depend on context
a literal god-hating athiest/anti-theist telling you tone down the pettiness
one that i always bring up is pork and jews
"Types something"
"Pork and Jews! A delicious addition to your dinner tradition"
Why are you being literal?
here's what's always bugged me about christianity. why did god decide that shellfish was bad in the first place and why did he suddenly decide to say "naw you cool bro"
jews have a rule not to eat pork, and it turns out in 3000BC or wherever, they had no way of safely cooking the meat, and its a dangerous meat if its improperly cooked
@Harazu Keshtah why do you even expect an answer to that
he made shellfish in the first place why not unmake it.
So are a lot of meats
WHY unmake it
so they took it as 'clearly god doesnt want us eating it, because when we do it makes us sick'
🙂
so they made the rule not to eat it, and more people survived than the groups that decided to eat it
I mean I'm 100% atheist but questioning the thought processes of an alleged omnipotence is pointless
because it complets my portrait of god being a madman who has total contempt for our intelligence.
I just got involved because he's being a petty little shit about it
and yes, all meats are dangerous, pork has a special enzyme or chemical where its much more dangerous to eat
@Harazu Keshtah of course God is a madman in the perception of limited beings
and this is in the days pre-science
Fuck, the biblical representation of elements of the OT god were horrifying and incomprehensible
so people didnt think 'clearly this meat has a chemical that makes me sick' they thought 'the meat is cursed'
different mindset, same end result
I'm ignostic. I don't believe in omnipotence or unlimited beings.
@Boop / 브파 / C'thUwU it's reductionist to say that all religious/cultural traditions stem from pre-scientific logic though
you can't look at god you'll melt (not making that one up)
if you eat pork, youll contract a problem more likely than if you ate other foods, so dont risk it
A stopped clock is correct twice a day
beef superior
lol what
You can just cook the pork.
nah, don't bother
cooking methods back then were not safe enough
beef is the way
Some old hebrew tribes would toss goats off of mountaintops because of apocryphal mythology that claimed a demon was sealed in the earth beneath the mountains, that they had to feed.
That wasn't prescientific logic, that was pure religious insanity
youre ignoring the context of when it was written
