is impeachment like a vote of no confidence?

2019-09-26 16:37:13 UTC

Ok time to ruin some days

If it passed the house, the senate would have to vote 2/3 in favor of removing Trump from office. Without the Senate vote the House is just pissing in the wind.

2019-09-26 16:38:44 UTC

the house is mostly democrat and the senate mostly republican, right?

2019-09-26 16:38:55 UTC

Senate is majority repub yes

2019-09-26 16:39:17 UTC

yeah you'd have to get 20 republicans to join the senate dems

2019-09-26 16:39:33 UTC

If Trump is voted out, Pence becomes president and Pelosi becomes Vice President, so Pelosi is literally getting to vote if she becomes vice president.

2019-09-26 16:39:50 UTC

is there independent members of the senate and house?

2019-09-26 16:39:52 UTC

That's why trump campaigned hard and took the Senate last year

2019-09-26 16:40:02 UTC

A bulwark against impeachment

2019-09-26 16:40:13 UTC

Bernie is technically an independant.

2019-09-26 16:40:33 UTC

its kind of weird how their is only 2 partys

2019-09-26 16:41:39 UTC

There's only 2 parties because if there was a 3rd, all of their support would go to one of the upper 2 in order to give one of them a higher chance of winning

2019-09-26 16:42:05 UTC

yeah a coalition

2019-09-26 16:42:16 UTC

whats wrong with a coalition

2019-09-26 16:42:48 UTC

A 3rd party splits the vote from one of the others, and guarantees the other a victory.

2019-09-26 16:42:59 UTC

I think of it like a tournament and there's only going to be 2 teams in the superbowl

2019-09-26 16:43:26 UTC

A eugenics professor walks into a bar and asks a girl to go home with him.

She asks if he has a condom, he says, "no, but I have a note from my doctor."

2019-09-26 16:45:23 UTC

the average american position is 8% into the right side of the political spectrum.

2019-09-26 16:46:01 UTC

So the average american is more right wing than the tories

2019-09-26 16:46:50 UTC

The average American doesn't even really know what their political position is on the spectrum, they just drink kool-aid and vote based on feelings

2019-09-26 16:46:57 UTC

is that self-identified, or based on policy opinion?

2019-09-26 16:48:55 UTC

the took a poll on policy positions of over 1000 people and the score was
0 - Democrat - 50 - Republican - 100
with a final median result of 54

2019-09-26 16:50:03 UTC

you expect us to believe literally zero people voted for an entire half of your poll

2019-09-26 16:50:14 UTC

That isn't what i said at all.

2019-09-26 16:50:30 UTC

0 - democrat, its right there

2019-09-26 16:50:32 UTC

0 is 100% left wing positions.

2019-09-26 16:50:57 UTC

what kind of fucking poll begims at an extreme to either side?

2019-09-26 16:51:06 UTC

are you fucking joking?

2019-09-26 16:51:25 UTC

I think the data was just presented in a confusing way

2019-09-26 16:51:42 UTC

Democrat = 0 - 50 - 100 = Republican
is what he meant
he's just too mentally challenged to express himself properly

2019-09-26 16:52:09 UTC

You made it sound like 100 people voted, 0 of them voted dem, and 54 voted republican

2019-09-26 16:53:00 UTC

He’s just stupid

2019-09-26 16:53:02 UTC

I'm sure you meant more than 100 voted otherwise that's a pretty silly poll

2019-09-26 16:53:37 UTC

he literally has the beginning integer start at an extreme of the scale, what a fucking joke

2019-09-26 16:53:42 UTC

You start in the middle, 50 is the center line. Score all participants on right or left. Final average score was 54.

2019-09-26 16:53:57 UTC

@Xenon 100 is a good number to analyze things

2019-09-26 16:54:06 UTC

Its why we use percentages
