This is a common feature I've seen among the community, @Samaritan™.
Every immigrant I've ever known absolutely hates their country of origin, and typically by the first and second generation entirely leaves their family behind, because they want nothing to do with their culture and politics.
I just hate how people discount our concept of American culture simply because we accept other cultures.
Just because we accept them doesn't mean we want to be dominated by them
People fleeing Cuba are a great example of that
Sad that their kids are all socialists
half of florida is considered little havana
it literally is bilingual/Spanish dominated half the state down
its fucking absurd
My stepfather was a great example of it, himself, a first-generation immigrant who completely abandoned his family to live out the American Dream, enlisting in the military at the age of 18. I've never quite met anyone as disciplined and of superior work ethic to him, a true pinnacle of the American way.
He's a staunch Republican as well. 😉
Indeed, @ubermensch.
yeah I have a friend in Miami, father escaped Cuba and is a federal circuit court judge now
staunch conservative, wants the wall built
as does my friend
legal immigration
"Guys I have Hispanic Conservative friends so most legal hispanics are conservatives"
I dont mind people come here. But there is a point in terms of the numbers that come here and their ability to adapt and integrate outside their supposed cliques. and for us to have the time to properly get them aligned to US values.
that's not what anyone said
Literally create an immigration system that selects for people like that and the dems will be anti immigration because they'll lose voters imao
My stepfather escaped the Islamic world of South America, Guyana to be precise. He's as American as they come, just as much as my jarhead father was.
@yearspastmatter, it's not uncommon.
whereas another friend moved from Colombia, just became a US citizen a couple years ago, and is a hardcore communist despite having a master's degree in economics
What the fuck
This shouldn't be allowed, in my opinion.
Reading basic economics didn't save him
I doubt he read Basic Economics
Ones political beliefs should be a disqualifier for entry.
He circulates SJW bullshit on Facebook all the time, too
woke anti-white stuff
Ideology that is antithetical to the free state should be a disqualifier
Goodnyaght everynyan! Having a horde of horse riding warriors just sounds cool
Funny how people like Sargon at a time made the impression of "the people don't matter the ideas matter." When its rather obvious the people who occupy a society are the ones whether they choose to uphold those ideas and values in themselves. And from what I hear alot of people from other places tend to look a bit differently at our values and often reject them for the place they came from.
But, as with Milton Friedman, Hayek, Thomas Sowell, Ronald Reagan, they all inevitably became staunch capitalists and champions of American conservatism.
Which just makes me want to think why are we obligated to take them?
and why did they even leave?
All ideology, then, @Samaritan™. 😄
I couldn't find a better way to word that I'm afraid
How does this happen, after pursuing a degree in economics, @yearspastmatter?
