Damnit, initial descent.
You could have algea around thermal vents too I suppose
If anything, they'd still look extremely plant-like, but have features that might be "animal-like."
Or, it might be on a planet where the first life gets its energy some other way.
Like a venus fly trap?
Because at the beginning there is nothing except atmosphere and light.
@Scale_e where from?
“It happened that way here, so it must have happened like that there.” Is extremely short sighted.
Where from? We can’t know. That’s the point.
Or that an exotic element is common.
That's another thing against non-carbon life too actually
Carbon dioxide floats free in the air
i think animals are already smart as fuck and we dont know cause we dont speak dolphin or bird, and we already took all land for ourselves so they cant build shit even if they wanted
Reminds me of that one fella that was on Rogan.
what if other aliens subsist on cummies instead
BUT
oceans are very unexplored
there could be another species
of sentient fish
We know, actually, @robert from kinoplex.
Too dark down there
Who got kickbanned from Area 51.
Down to for how far animals and birds can count, for example.
@Scale_e have you figured out how the stuff will fix energy yet? Besides thermal vents and sunlight there really aren't many other options
@robert from kinoplex this.
Fuck, I forgot why that reminded of that. >.>
oh nice
isopod boi
Deep Sea Isopods are adorable.
LOts of deep sea things are
Oh, exotic element that allows FTL or anti-grav or some shit.
too dark down there
Anyway, while there could be photosynthetic life forms that got energy from low end of specter - it is still visible specter.
But, anyways, back to my hypothetical, it would not be absurd for an equine-like species on another planet to develop intelligence just as an Avian, Arthropodic, Fish, or Amphibian species were to develop.
It requires the right environment to promote intellectual growth.
Yes, it would be absurd.
@Laucivol we don't need exotic shit for that lol, just a bit of creative application of quantum physics and antimatter
Or maybe I'm mixing my sources. Anyhow, baselone compositions of environmental systems may be far different than what we are accustomed to.
