if they can feel pain

2019-07-31 11:47:03 UTC

they will revolt

2019-07-31 11:47:14 UTC

That's a risk I'm willing to take

2019-07-31 11:47:18 UTC

androids could easily be programmed with sensors to detect "pain"

2019-07-31 11:47:19 UTC

why

2019-07-31 11:47:30 UTC

Because it's better that way

2019-07-31 11:47:40 UTC

it could be a defense mechanism to protect itself

2019-07-31 11:48:02 UTC

yeah but make it a defense method not actual pain

2019-07-31 11:48:08 UTC

Can't program pleasure without pain.

2019-07-31 11:48:09 UTC

ahahaha

2019-07-31 11:48:15 UTC

That's what pain is, Muten

2019-07-31 11:48:19 UTC

no pain hurts

2019-07-31 11:48:20 UTC

or to protect humans... i.e if they bump into humans too much it will cause them "pain" as much as humans

2019-07-31 11:48:38 UTC

Yes, that hurt is your bodies evolutionary response to taking damage

2019-07-31 11:48:40 UTC

they already do to some degree, if there's a leak in a hydraulic system it is likely to notice the pressure or flow loss and auto-shutdown.

2019-07-31 11:48:55 UTC

we need a system where they can detect hazards but not feel bad about hitting the dangers

2019-07-31 11:48:57 UTC

Pleasure can be 'painful'.

2019-07-31 11:49:16 UTC

because if they do that then they will start to get revolt-y

2019-07-31 11:49:21 UTC

Such people exist, Muten, and have a horrible habit of dying off prematurely

2019-07-31 11:49:32 UTC

you are retarded

2019-07-31 11:49:34 UTC

@Muten What if a robot is crushing my midget son tyrion

2019-07-31 11:49:38 UTC

the fucking sheer retardation here rn 😂

2019-07-31 11:49:39 UTC

How will it know to stop

2019-07-31 11:49:49 UTC

depends you could make it so that androids receive pleasure out of helping humans

2019-07-31 11:49:54 UTC

you are assuming pain in the human sense, I am not talking about it in the human sense

2019-07-31 11:49:54 UTC

We need it to feel pain so it knows when to stop

2019-07-31 11:50:03 UTC

@Muten i am

2019-07-31 11:50:10 UTC

Tax the fucking androids

2019-07-31 11:50:16 UTC

a machine doesn't need the bad sense to know not to hurt itself

2019-07-31 11:50:20 UTC

The feeling you get when you're whippe or beaten, I want robots to feel it

2019-07-31 11:50:25 UTC

Robots can't feel real pain then.

2019-07-31 11:50:35 UTC

it just needs to be programmed to avoid damage

2019-07-31 11:50:39 UTC

Whats that game with androids called

2019-07-31 11:50:45 UTC

Detroit come alive or something

2019-07-31 11:50:54 UTC

Detroit become human

2019-07-31 11:50:57 UTC

Yeah

2019-07-31 11:50:58 UTC

That

2019-07-31 11:50:59 UTC

doctor dolittle

2019-07-31 11:51:02 UTC

it could be programmed to feel "pain" or "upset" when humans are upset or in pain

2019-07-31 11:51:04 UTC

The robots in that Feel pain

2019-07-31 11:51:05 UTC

if pressure < 100psi, the pressure gauge sends the PLC a signal telling it there's a leak, and the PLC does what it's programmed to do, whether that is turn on a low pressure light, or trigger a shutdown is all up to the programming.
