I am yet to sleep

2019-08-05 04:58:15 UTC

i was meant to be up at 8

2019-08-05 04:58:35 UTC

I think the dum usually die first unfortunately

2019-08-05 04:58:38 UTC

Cannon-fodder

2019-08-05 04:58:41 UTC

the lord has forsaken me

2019-08-05 04:59:10 UTC

The Corps was more immediate action oriented.. which is why the convo the other day that got into Orders got my head spinning. Orders are things like, "Go take that hill." Or "set up the equipment for x Marines." Which is then dispersed and broken down to various tasks.

2019-08-05 04:59:41 UTC

Yeah, but bravery doesn't prohibit idiocy.

2019-08-05 04:59:59 UTC

i would imagine so. like i said earlier, i have seen enough to know there just really isn't a comparison

2019-08-05 05:00:05 UTC

differnent time preference

2019-08-05 05:00:40 UTC

It's the situational requirements of the given missions that change that pacing.

2019-08-05 05:00:49 UTC

Bravery is to idiocy as genius is to madness.

2019-08-05 05:01:08 UTC

sounds about right

2019-08-05 05:01:13 UTC

Success defines both.

2019-08-05 05:01:28 UTC

This is a fair assessment.

2019-08-05 05:01:33 UTC

Success differentiates both

2019-08-05 05:02:02 UTC

"Fortune Favors the Bold"

2019-08-05 05:02:15 UTC

Heh, that same line had come to mind.

2019-08-05 05:02:41 UTC

Or that one Batman series that was mediocre.

2019-08-05 05:03:01 UTC

But I'd cut my teeth on the 90s Batman Animated series.

2019-08-05 05:03:08 UTC

What’s the difference between prudent contemplation and negligent hesitation? Whatever comes next.

2019-08-05 05:03:30 UTC

That's not how this works.

2019-08-05 05:03:32 UTC

This is my territory Muten

2019-08-05 05:03:33 UTC

'negligent hesistation'?

2019-08-05 05:03:51 UTC

Basically, stalling too long.

2019-08-05 05:03:58 UTC

Thinking so long that the vital moment passes you.

2019-08-05 05:04:08 UTC

More like 'analysis paralysis"

2019-08-05 05:04:22 UTC

I've heard of that one.

2019-08-05 05:04:50 UTC

Though, negligent hesitation has a certain ring to it as well.

2019-08-05 05:04:56 UTC

or colloquiolally, "to choke": (overthink) rather than panic (over react)

2019-08-05 05:05:09 UTC

Both are bad.

2019-08-05 05:05:24 UTC

Though, panic oft' times is more disastrous.

2019-08-05 05:05:37 UTC

guess i see 'negligence' from a legal perspective; pre-existing duty

2019-08-05 05:05:46 UTC

(And is a massive pet peeve of mine in minor circumstances.)

2019-08-05 05:05:58 UTC

but it's not a constant thin, more discrete, one-time thing

2019-08-05 05:05:58 UTC

Panicky people annoy the shit out of me.

2019-08-05 05:06:12 UTC

Like choosing to disobey an order

2019-08-05 05:06:39 UTC

Well, the implicit argument is that one has a duty to act.

2019-08-05 05:06:55 UTC

you have a duty to follow orders but that duty was given when you signed up that they would follow certain standards
