The second part of your question is where it went completely off the rails.
The correct answer is that it is a necessary theft at a cost of living in a safe society, but nobody wants to get past that and just resorts to "HURR DURR ANCAP MUH ROADS"

For real though, we unironically live in a society and being born into one makes you subject to it's rules whether how much you disagree with it. The best you can do is try to change it from the inside or fuck off and make your own society
