I recall seeing, not too long ago, a list of events that would threaten world peace. The top item on that list was: "China experiences a hard landing."
Which their banks had a bad day last week. Not sure if they bounced back.
The state has been taking control of banks that are not performing anymore.
So it seems like the sanctions are working.
Indeed.
Good thing we got Trump when we did...
They are only working, imo, because the rich in China are continuing to move money out of the country.
So other "banks" are buying China's currency which prevents China from being able to control it's value without jeopardizing investment.
An economic crisis, a frustrated male populace, sounds like a recipy for disaster
A disaster for China, yes. And there's all sorts of ways it could be a catastrophe for the entire region.
Maybe China thinks the best solution would be to simply roll on Siberia and take it over.
Or simply take over the rest of SE Asia.
The Himalayas prevent them from just swooping in on India, tho.
It would spiral into south east Asia, Eastern Africa, and probably affect the border with Napal/India
Heh. Just imagine China attempting to colonize Africa.
It'd be an interesting outlet for their overabundance of young males.
They're already doing that
Well they are right now by putting the governments into crippling debt.
By force, I mean.
Oh, well
Eventually
Yeah they won't do that 😛
"This isnt chess it's checkers"
Wait
Kek.
Hmm
Also major interruptions of oil out of the middle east would fucking wreck China
It's go.
Where does China get most of its oil from right now?
Middle East primarily and Canada
It's trying to migrate away to other countries.
It has it's own oil production but who knows how long they'll want to drain their own supply.
Some quick research tells me they get most of their imported oil from Southeast Asia
Overall they have their hands everywhere
And they have become dependent on import in the 90's
I remember them doing a big deal with Canada for their sand oil.
The dirty oil.
Yeah I think they are projected to pass the US as the worlds largest consumer of oil. *Drink up*
Wait if China has become dependent in the 90's, and their population has since grown by about 25%+
