What you would do is cause some damage and just allow them to retaliate against our embassies, any military bases or allies. We would be foolish not to have troops ready to respond which means they would disperse their forces to prevent an effective assault because they would be aware of our troop movements and most likely Russia would be positioning themselves to support Iran. You'd just end up doing some damage and starting a war that would end up creating more instability in the region.
