About marijuana usage, I was actually more friendly and social and all that when I was a pothead.

2019-08-07 10:34:14 UTC

It numbs the mind, it makes you softer, and it makes you more open towards people. Aggression is the last thing that MJ causes.

2019-08-07 10:34:57 UTC

What's more likely is that hard drugs are in play when a drug addict goes on a rampage

2019-08-07 10:35:47 UTC

Video games, well I can see how it makes people more aggressive, it's probably true to some extent

2019-08-07 10:36:02 UTC

But does it turn someone into a mass shooter? Highly unlikely.

2019-08-07 10:36:57 UTC

Men are more competitive and more confrontative by nature, they have a desire to dominate in games, because it's a safe environment where no one gets actually hurt.

2019-08-07 10:37:46 UTC

Potential mass shooters are naturally drawn to such an environment, obviously. So again, correlation, but not causation.

2019-08-07 10:38:51 UTC

The other thing is, I've actually spent time with other gamers, I've met them

2019-08-07 10:39:18 UTC

In real life they're some of the kindest, softest, friendliest people you can imagine. So non-confrontative in fact that it's almost absurd.

2019-08-07 10:40:07 UTC

What I find more likely is that if we restrict video games, real life aggression might go up. Just going by the same logic as with the war on alcohol.

2019-08-07 10:40:43 UTC

We live in a very male-unfriendly society these days. Male aggression is being highly misunderstood.

2019-08-07 10:41:11 UTC

And authority figures like teachers try to repress it to ridiculous degrees.

2019-08-07 11:22:22 UTC

@ETBrooD you ever read Fight Club?

2019-08-07 11:23:47 UTC

Didn't read it, just watched the movie

2019-08-07 11:25:14 UTC

Ok. Well youre hitting on the same points. The concept of a fight club is the same as a mass shooting when you look at it.

2019-08-07 11:25:20 UTC

Not saying women shouldnt have a place in society, but thye were much better in the kitchen then in our schools

2019-08-07 11:25:58 UTC

Men indeed want to be in fight clubs, of course the one in the movie is exaggerated, but that's for artistic purposes I guess

2019-08-07 11:27:04 UTC

I think women in schools is fine, but there should be gender separation. I stick to that.

2019-08-07 11:27:30 UTC

It's a meaning-of-last-resort, for men who dont have meaning.

2019-08-07 11:27:51 UTC

For men with nothing to lose

2019-08-07 11:27:56 UTC

@ETBrooD it was a joke

2019-08-07 11:28:28 UTC

In a similar vein as the one.that starts, "not saying black lives dont matter..."

2019-08-07 11:28:31 UTC

Oh, hard to distinguish. I know people, including women, who want women to go back to the kitchen and lose their voting rights.

2019-08-07 11:29:12 UTC

And I think men's meaning lies in male-only clubs. Chess, tennis, football, etc. etc.

2019-08-07 11:29:32 UTC

These are typically male-dominated or sometimes gender segregated.

2019-08-07 11:29:37 UTC

Or workshops.

2019-08-07 11:30:01 UTC

@ETBrooD fair enough, text doesnt translate inflections well

2019-08-07 11:30:02 UTC

But there is also the protect and provide aspects

2019-08-07 11:30:14 UTC

Yeah that, too

2019-08-07 11:30:54 UTC

We can agree that the average man is missing a lot of meaning

2019-08-07 11:31:17 UTC

Men want to have male role models and male buddies, and to become male role models themselves

2019-08-07 11:31:40 UTC

This is something that only men are creating for themselves. Society at large doesn't really care.

2019-08-07 11:32:24 UTC

I think fatherhood is also one of the greatest roles to have.

2019-08-07 11:32:48 UTC

Fathers are so undervalued for some reason, but I cherish every moment that my father taught me something.

2019-08-07 11:35:44 UTC

I have a few role models in life, a good mix of male and female

2019-08-07 11:36:26 UTC

One of them was a Judo teacher, complete opposite personality to mine back then, big guy, like a gorilla, and he just taught us things with no pressure.

2019-08-07 11:36:59 UTC

Another teacher replaced him when he had an accident, and that one was way too much for me. Too much energy, too driven, too stressful. So I stopped going.

2019-08-07 11:38:16 UTC

I think these people have a huge impact on our youth.

2019-08-07 11:40:23 UTC

women have genetically selected men for gullibility and white knighting, this is one of the major factors that allows for the lies to be spread about the role of men in society

2019-08-07 12:18:59 UTC

They've not done so "genetically", but culturally

2019-08-07 12:21:24 UTC

In the stone age women had to commit to a relationship if they wanted to survive, so they chose a partner who was strong, assertive and popular. Gullibility is a weakness.
