Not really. The wider stance of the aft legs makes for more stability when landing.
@Eirshy One is a chinook for transport - has bigger fuel tanks
The other is equipped with a hook, so the crew needs to be able to look down from the doors, and since it is a base operation chinook it lacks the side fuel tanks
