Rototrs are connected via cogs
'cause they even get slightly out of sync and your rotors chop themselves apart
They can never go out of sync

I wouln't say never, I highly doubt it's a single cog; faulty tollerances or just too much wear on the parts in that assembly can cause it to have enough give to allow something catastrophic. The fact that it'd need a deviance of 25% makes it highly unlikely, and they probably designed it to have as little chance of that as possible....
