@2K Stellaris now is a very different game than it was on release. Patch 2.0 I think it was, reworked 60 % of the game.

Lots of basic mechanics, travel (space lanes only, no worm holes and gates so you can't move out of the box and it becomes a 2D space with chokepoints), sectors (AI is still shit but it no longer demolishes your buildings), the way buildings are even built as it switched form tiles to discricts...
