I had just finished FA training in Phoenix, Arizona

So I went home to get some new clothes and relax a bit before going to my base in Dallas

Booked standby tickets because they were free

Little did I know, a snowstorm was rolling in to the Akron Canton Airport area

Waiting in the terminal and watching as all the flights get delayed until every single flight at the airport is canceled

Fine. I'll head north to Cleveland and go that way

Another 4 hours of delays

Finally get on a plane

Taxi to the runway

Full throttle

Brakes

Taxi off the runway

*ding* Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. We need to taxi back to the gate for a quick de-icing." *ding*

45 minutes of de-icing

Taxi to the runway again

Actually take off this time

Land in Chicago

Can't get to the gate. There are planes in the way being de-iced

2 hours of delay after my plane has already landed

Long to the short of it, a trip that should have taken 4 hours, took 24

I missed the romance arc being expended uppon, but otherwise great story

Being a Flight Attendant didn't really work out for me
