Meh, it depends on what kind of democracy you're talking about. I favor a Constitutional democracy that secures individual rights.
Churchill has some bomb quotes
Yeah but over time democracies go further left wing
That video sums up well why i don't like democracy
'Tis why I dislike politics of money and propaganda; elections should be decided by merits, not marketing.
who determines metric
merit
Exactly.
We the people. Big brained individuals.
That's why democracy is the least worst system; the masses do. But when politics become devoid of substance and instead simply turn into screaming matches and et cetera, the masses' judgment is tainted. I'd rather have the uninformed not care and those who are informed cast their votes based on rational evaluations of each candidate's merit. Instead we're getting closer and closer into turning government into some reality tv drama, 'cept it determines the fates of millions of people.

pathos becomes superior to logos
people care little for real policies
only whether boris cheated on his wife
Exactly. If politics are boring and the tabloid/uninformed just don't care, the dull people like you and I can determine the outcome of elections with votes based on policies.
The main problem is this
That's one reason why I want Warren to win; you can't get the uninformed masses excited about President Librarian.
Most people in the center just go case by case, they have no real principles.
And then there's the wackos with really bad principles. Where are the rational principles?
Also, we need to get propaganda and money out of politics. Do that, and it's a lot harder to radicalize wackos.
we live in an age where it is incredibly easy to access information, but because of our shortened attentionn spans we have a society of Dunning Kruger's who think they are educated on everything when in reality very few have the fortitude to read actual books
^^^^
people see articles and think they know everything
So we make politics boring to the Dunning Krugers.
people know more and less at the same tm

takes real intelligence to accept how little you know
I tend to read a lot of Emerson, Whitman and the early American writers. They have a pretty inspiring sense of life.
Obviously, I'm making it simpler than it really is, but that is the basic premise of one of my ideas for getting us away from the politics of drama.
Ha, i love nietzsche
God please no xD
fucking hilarious
I love Kreia. ^-^
you are no.1 then
In what?
joking
I once tried to read Kant's Critique but it was basically incomprehensible so I gave up and bought an analysis of it instead.
oh man that book
i've read that and the phenomenology of spirit
Oh. Uhh... I actually find Kreia's philosophy quite interesting, though. She is without a doubt my favorite Star Wars character of all time.
