I believe that public opinion should not be tainted by misleading propaganda that gives the wealthy minority a louder voice than everyone else combined. I'd rather the apolitical and uninformed not participate in politics at all than have elections decided by masses of people who only know empty slogans and baseless rhetoric.

That's why democracy is the least worst system; the masses do. But when politics become devoid of substance and instead simply turn into screaming matches and et cetera, the masses' judgment is tainted. I'd rather have the uninformed not care and those who are informed cast their votes based on rational evaluations of each candidate's merit.
