No, the Japanese were struggling by time they admitted their plans for national suicide. If there was a large scale invasion, they would have been given the call to kill themselves like in the smaller islands that were fought on. The elderly and children were clubbed to death by the sons/parents respectively, rather than taken in as prisoners of war. Women would grab their children and throw themselves from cliffsides.
