There was a time when a single burger flipping bread winner could support an entire family and household. But then feminism happened 😉

2019-10-17 19:03:17 UTC

Yeah, feminism really fucked a lot of things also

2019-10-17 19:03:39 UTC

That's kind of a myth though, you could have supported a family for that wage but you'd have massively struggled unless you lived in a place that already had extremely low cost of living

2019-10-17 19:03:59 UTC

People act like there wasn't a giant poor working class before feminism

2019-10-17 19:03:59 UTC

Ya, but my example isn't a myth

2019-10-17 19:04:03 UTC

family, sure...

people had far less stuff in the past too

less valuable stuff anyway

2019-10-17 19:04:31 UTC

Well, today you can barely function without computer/internet/cellphone.

2019-10-17 19:04:32 UTC

stuff is pretty overrated

2019-10-17 19:04:34 UTC

That's also a huge factor, the level of consumerism that constitutes an "average" life is massively increased

2019-10-17 19:04:55 UTC

Cause of free trade but also because companies use slave labor in China.

2019-10-17 19:05:00 UTC

@TheBadfish I'm not saying that automation is bad. At worst it's morally neutral.

What i'm saying is that corporations already control the development of automation, to serve the ends of the shareholders. They will eventually leave all the labourers behind.

One could propose various ways to curtail this development. Not necessarily by banning or destroying automation altogether.

2019-10-17 19:05:29 UTC

Yes I understand that, and it's exactly what I'm saying too. We're talking past each other.

2019-10-17 19:05:47 UTC

But my other point is that we as the laborers and workers need to take more control over the automation shift

2019-10-17 19:05:48 UTC

Well ya, a gun is neutral until it is used for a mass shooting, like a lot of things.

2019-10-17 19:06:00 UTC

Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind.

2019-10-17 19:06:25 UTC

If we simply resist automation we will get left behind. Our only chance is to attempt to wrest control of it.

2019-10-17 19:06:26 UTC

@TheBadfish So you suggest socialism/communism/workers revolt then?

2019-10-17 19:06:32 UTC

Lol bruh

2019-10-17 19:06:41 UTC

Did you really just

2019-10-17 19:06:45 UTC

no.... not at all

2019-10-17 19:07:00 UTC

I mean give it time human drones will do the soldiering as opposed to humans. Because ya know a robot doesn’t need to eat.

2019-10-17 19:07:05 UTC

@TheBadfish I don't mean to be uncharitable here. I'm genuinely curious.

2019-10-17 19:07:36 UTC

No, because communistic revolt isn't even a valid way to control the automation shift

2019-10-17 19:07:36 UTC

All I'm saying, is that with all indications, we cannot trust these corporations with mass automation, they already have an established oligarchy and will not hesitate to take this to the next level of dystopian levels.

2019-10-17 19:07:42 UTC

@ubermensch Perhaps. But when the enemy also use drones. What will happen to war, when warfare is composed solely of drones fighting other drones?

2019-10-17 19:08:02 UTC

I agree red but what's your solution? You're not going to be able to legislate automation out of existence/relevance

2019-10-17 19:08:13 UTC

Evening

2019-10-17 19:08:18 UTC

ya comando

2019-10-17 19:08:21 UTC

sup

2019-10-17 19:08:47 UTC

I don't think anyone has a proper solution @TheBadfish ...

2019-10-17 19:08:49 UTC

sadly..

2019-10-17 19:08:53 UTC

for now

2019-10-17 19:08:59 UTC

@Seven Proxies nothing. War happens regardless in the effort for one side to kill the other. Because the person at the head of those drones obviously has got some motives to fulfill.

2019-10-17 19:09:04 UTC

I've got a couple of ideas. Just picking one at random: harsh and dystopian as it may sound, we might actually have to start enforcing a depopulation program and shrink the global population of humans.

2019-10-17 19:09:05 UTC

I would agree, and as far as I see it The literal only option is to attempt to dethrone corporatized control of automation of workers

2019-10-17 19:09:35 UTC

Lol i unironically think that the depopulation of whites is actually a good thing IF AND ONLY IF divorced from non-white displacement

2019-10-17 19:09:42 UTC

@ubermensch I think the rammifications and the treatment of war will change significantly when actual humans aren't putting their lives on the line for it. But that's just my two cents

2019-10-17 19:10:13 UTC

If we could manage to reduce the non-white population (or eliminate it mostly) and allow the white population to settle back down to lower numbers until we are stabilized, we would actually be in a great position to automate away most work
