interesting concept

2019-11-29 23:26:14 UTC

I never really given any thought to engines except for maintaining cars.

2019-11-29 23:27:28 UTC

that's fair, I kinda want to be able to do my own work on my own truck but the electronics are a bit overwhelming for me, mostly because the wireing is a rats nest in most everything.

2019-11-29 23:27:45 UTC

oh yeah

2019-11-29 23:27:58 UTC

especially when it comes to building a PC

2019-11-29 23:28:17 UTC

the wiring gets everywhere

2019-11-29 23:28:32 UTC

even though I would still take it to a shop most of the time, it's nice to know how it is built and wired so I can take a good guess at what is wrong.

2019-11-29 23:29:00 UTC

at least in a PC everything is more or less standardized.

2019-11-29 23:29:06 UTC

mmm

2019-11-29 23:29:09 UTC

I guess so

2019-11-29 23:29:40 UTC

When you're picking parts you have to make sure that the CPU and PSU and Motherboard

2019-11-29 23:29:47 UTC

can handle it

2019-11-29 23:30:10 UTC

but yah, take that and scale it up to about 10 or 20 feet, now make it so the case covers most of the wires and needs heavy equipment to move.

2019-11-29 23:30:26 UTC

hell yeah

2019-11-29 23:30:38 UTC

can i post youtube links here?

2019-11-29 23:30:49 UTC

I don't know, check <#463041536003932170>

2019-11-29 23:31:27 UTC

that's what a truck is like.
what's worse is the one I have is a bit of a hodgepodge.

2019-11-29 23:31:47 UTC

oof

2019-11-29 23:33:40 UTC

You can post links in here, but they won't embed (precaution for new folks in case folks come in to spam unsavoury images to get the server taken down)

2019-11-29 23:33:44 UTC

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee SCP-81723897213721398 has escaped confinement!

2019-11-29 23:33:56 UTC

from what i know, the brand of truck no longer services the brand of engine, then I know the fuse box got replaced at least once, and the gauge panel.
the good news is the brand of engine is one of the most common so most shops can service it just fine.

2019-11-29 23:34:19 UTC

This channel acts as a general until your immigration applications have been processed 🙂

2019-11-29 23:34:36 UTC

as it naturally does

2019-11-29 23:34:42 UTC

lots of fun! but at least the big trucks are not really proprietary for the most part.

2019-11-29 23:35:02 UTC

yeah

2019-11-29 23:35:26 UTC

All I know is how to work on a 2000 Chevy Malibu

2019-11-29 23:35:41 UTC

I replaced nearly everything in her

2019-11-29 23:35:48 UTC

Good evening folks

2019-11-29 23:35:54 UTC

Evening

2019-11-29 23:35:55 UTC

I kinda knew i would be getting into a bit of crazy land when i bought a truck old enough to be exempt form most of the modern emissions standards.
makeing it much cheaper to work on and more reliable besides.

2019-11-29 23:36:07 UTC

yeah

2019-11-29 23:36:13 UTC

I should note the truck I drive for work is not the truck I own, not right now at least.

2019-11-29 23:36:31 UTC

I heard about something about modern designs not being reliable like their older cousins

2019-11-29 23:37:00 UTC

I just assume its companies being lazy

2019-11-29 23:37:19 UTC

its mostly the emissions equipment, far more complex then it should be and was forced into use before it was ready for market.

2019-11-29 23:37:41 UTC

lots of sensors and crap.

2019-11-29 23:38:00 UTC

ah

2019-11-29 23:38:10 UTC

the governments fault

2019-11-29 23:38:15 UTC

THANKS OBAMA

2019-11-29 23:38:30 UTC

if I had the money I would try experimenting with an after burner to reduce emissions.

2019-11-29 23:38:56 UTC

well, 03 is when things started getting bad for trucks, so I don't think Obama is to blame for that.
