science is using a method to discover truth right... its using tools to discover truth, so science can be a lot of things... just depends on what truth you are trying to discover or disprove. Right?
You can get to a hypothesis that way sure the bar is very low for hypothesis. But to become a theory even you have to make testable falsifiable statements. Here they fail.
For instance if you say, "gender is a social concept and different to biological sex." what is the standard for falsifiability? I would say that over a .9 correlation (it's actually closer to **.99**) would falsify that statement. Gender studies disagree because they have no standard for falsifiability.
yes of course, sadly this wont stop these people from claiming its real. publishing it into their journals/publications. using it to convince people to a point they cant be convinced otherwise
Sure the problem is not exclusive to gender studies and exists throughout the social sciences. The standard model is horrible IMHO but I am not *against* social science. I'm in EO Wilson's camp I think we *can* do real social science but to correct it we need to make it conciliant with biology. The same way you cannot do chemistry without recognizing particle physics. Social science should be done within the framework of studying the human species a social primate.
