I dunno if voting is a right... or a privilege
We could go full starship troopers?
Doesn’t matter about that opinion cause most of the public see it as a right
And like I said raising it brings the problem of taking their voting “privileges” away
I like calling it a right
Not automatic citizenship and only citizens can vote, who have earned citizenship
The problem would be who gets to decide who gets to vote
like I said.. referendum
Referendums are pains in the ass
We would need a referendum.. since our leaders always follow the result of them... :\
I don’t see much problem with the current system with 18 year olds voting
The only argument I hear is 18 year olds vote for leftists
cos none of them are working 😛
yeah, but very few vote, I think its abotu 25% of under 25's vote or something?
And if you’re making that argument at least make it out of principal not just so leftists don’t get voted in
but 70 to 80% of those over 50?
i think
Ok?
What does that show
Some people still vote some 18-25s are interested in politics
hitler youth
"we should have free stuff!"
That’s not an argument
Just because you disagree with how they vote on average doesn’t mean they shouldn’t vote
I wasnt really making an argument for anything.. just making an observation
Ok
It’s just everyone that argues for increased voting age it’s just because young people vote labour
Well I don't thing there is many arguing for increasing as there are for lowering
I’d sooner lower it then increase it but it’s fine where it is
maybe people should only be able to vote when they move away from home... so its not just their parents vote
Nah a lot of people get different opinions then their parents
Most of my friends have different opinions
Then also then a lot disabled people wouldn’t be able to vote
Student's should only be allowed to register at there home address
mature / indepedent students can register where ever they live.
Students that live at home can vote then?
THat's my faults

tired
Ok
