would be interesting though... to put out a referendum on what age people should be able to vote at... one of the ranked voting ref votes... so like
a) over 16
b) over 18
c) over 21
d) over 25
and you give each one a score of 1 to 4

2019-11-22 02:11:07 UTC

Blimey cant type tonight

2019-11-22 02:11:24 UTC

I donā€™t want to hear ā€œyouā€™re 14ā€

People would protest since youā€™re taking some of their voting rights away

2019-11-22 02:11:36 UTC

Should stay at 18 tbh

2019-11-22 02:11:41 UTC

Legal age to be an adult

2019-11-22 02:11:57 UTC

Voting should match age of becoming an 'adult'

2019-11-22 02:12:07 UTC

Unless we are changing that just keep it at 18

2019-11-22 02:12:18 UTC

I dunno if voting is a right... or a privilege

2019-11-22 02:12:38 UTC

We could go full starship troopers?

2019-11-22 02:12:46 UTC

Doesnā€™t matter about that opinion cause most of the public see it as a right

And like I said raising it brings the problem of taking their voting ā€œprivilegesā€ away

2019-11-22 02:12:50 UTC

I like calling it a right

2019-11-22 02:12:58 UTC

Not automatic citizenship and only citizens can vote, who have earned citizenship

2019-11-22 02:13:03 UTC

The problem would be who gets to decide who gets to vote

2019-11-22 02:13:18 UTC

like I said.. referendum

2019-11-22 02:13:27 UTC

Referendums are pains in the ass

2019-11-22 02:13:30 UTC

We would need a referendum.. since our leaders always follow the result of them... :\

2019-11-22 02:13:38 UTC

I donā€™t see much problem with the current system with 18 year olds voting

2019-11-22 02:13:47 UTC

The only argument I hear is 18 year olds vote for leftists

2019-11-22 02:14:03 UTC

cos none of them are working šŸ˜›

2019-11-22 02:14:16 UTC

yeah, but very few vote, I think its abotu 25% of under 25's vote or something?

2019-11-22 02:14:23 UTC

And if youā€™re making that argument at least make it out of principal not just so leftists donā€™t get voted in

2019-11-22 02:14:27 UTC

but 70 to 80% of those over 50?

2019-11-22 02:14:30 UTC

i think

2019-11-22 02:14:34 UTC

Ok?

2019-11-22 02:14:37 UTC

What does that show

2019-11-22 02:14:54 UTC

Some people still vote some 18-25s are interested in politics

2019-11-22 02:15:17 UTC

hitler youth

2019-11-22 02:15:35 UTC

pretty easy to create young natsocs

2019-11-22 02:15:49 UTC

"we should have free stuff!"

2019-11-22 02:16:04 UTC

Thatā€™s not an argument

2019-11-22 02:16:13 UTC

Just because you disagree with how they vote on average doesnā€™t mean they shouldnā€™t vote

2019-11-22 02:16:39 UTC

I wasnt really making an argument for anything.. just making an observation

2019-11-22 02:16:45 UTC

Ok

2019-11-22 02:17:06 UTC

Itā€™s just everyone that argues for increased voting age itā€™s just because young people vote labour

2019-11-22 02:17:37 UTC

Well I don't thing there is many arguing for increasing as there are for lowering

2019-11-22 02:17:55 UTC

Iā€™d sooner lower it then increase it but itā€™s fine where it is

2019-11-22 02:18:46 UTC

maybe people should only be able to vote when they move away from home... so its not just their parents vote

2019-11-22 02:19:05 UTC

Nah a lot of people get different opinions then their parents

2019-11-22 02:19:16 UTC

Most of my friends have different opinions

2019-11-22 02:19:35 UTC

Then also then a lot disabled people wouldnā€™t be able to vote

2019-11-22 02:20:24 UTC

Student's should only be allowed to register at there home address
