I feel like Bethesda had a fluke and got super money hungry over night, fired all their developers and hired suits to maximize profits.

Ever since, this is the games we've had. ports and micro transactions.

Most, if not all, of the people who worked on Mass Effect and Dragon Age have left, which is how we end up with Andromeda, Anthem, and the eventual Dragon Age 4.
