I may be an armchair psychologist when I say that, so take this with a huge grain of salt, but it seems to me like he even has developed something that is typical for people who are careful not to speak their mind too honestly - he has developed a sort of stutter, not really a stutter but something of that sort

He stutters on pre-recorded videos, where he does that "I don't support Trump, I would never vote Trump, actually I was Sanders supporter, I would still vote Tulsi" rant. It comes of as purely neurotical reaction.
