thats why i fold my hands, and fall to my knees, and shed tears from beauty at how amazing and beautiful god and god's children are. especially an honest relationship between them.
It's a purely logical position that the Gospel is the only thing on earth that has any touch of the Divine at all, the pantheons of man are full of gluttonous lustful traitorous gods made in the images of the men who made them, then you have the eastern philosophy/mysticism thing, that likes to ask a lot of questions but is very short on answers, then you have Mohammadans whose version of Jesus (religious founder) was a bloodlustful pedophile warlord that said to kill anyone who converts away from their religion. Then you have Jesus who was nailed to the Cross as a ~33 year old virgin, after preaching His Gospel of Love, Repentance, and Forgiveness of others. What would God be like if He walked among us? Some Herculean demigod? How unimaginative, how human. đŸ˜ƒ Gospel of John FTW He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God John 1v11-13
yes, a lot of signs and wonders are about the ego, and a lot of folks fell for it
God does come to earth to set things right when powerful evil people start to cause too much trouble, according to the hindus.
in human form
of course
the virtues of different faiths have a lot in common, just like the languages all kind of come from an old forgotten language (indo-european?)
You are Hindu?
I'm not at all cool with islamicism
i have been called a hindu, and as a joke i said 'ok then i am a hindu'
then god made it true
me me me, what is this an opera
I view Hinduism as a modern mythology, many similarities to the aforementioned pantheons of man, big polytheism, but they as a people do retain the basics that the seats of civilization received from God (probably when Babel was broken), like the patriarchy, traditional family values, modesty, etc... Hindus make good citizens in the west.
unlike true muslims, whose only way to be sure of salvation is to die in jihad
= bomb vest
the biggest part of hinduism is the generous corpus of spiritual texts, and if you don't stop the indians, they will revere and worship thousands and thousands of 'gods' but look what american christians do, they worship celebrities and computer companies and politicians, etc
most folks just arent aware they are worshipping
those aren't Christians though
I mean if they really are, then they are whores
the religion of the west is buying and selling, hey i am doing it too
Well music is inherently worshipful, I only buy praise and worship music, we will make some cultural exceptions like classical music, ballads, educational music
the gods of that religion are musicians actors activists philosophers etc
movies are okay if they are clean, like family movies
different people have a different degree of depth of their spirituality
some have none
and it gradually moves up the scale
so society is full of a random bunch of values
by spiritual i mean having a relationship with your maker
awareness of etc
anyway, im gettin tired, thanks for the chat
I just like what I like in terms of words that point to God
I'm grateful to Jesse for pointing me back in the right way
And thank you too
Well raising sheltered children is not a good thing, obviously kids need to be sheltered against some things, but if you sheltered them too much they will not be able to relate to their culture, and they will just run wild when they have independence
flesh gives birth to flesh, and Spirit gives birth to spirit
if it turns out that Jesus says "you totally didn't accept me enough" then I will accept my punishment.
most of our material that isn't strictly Christian, is family-friendly stuff for kids
God Bless
If I die, get to the pearly gates and Peter says "no u" then I will gladly accept my crap sandwich
