Praying is very important, whether you do it out loud or silently

we're told to pray unceasingly, most of my prayer is silent

I pray with my family etc out loud, if someone asks me to pray with them, I pray out loud

sometimes I pray outloud when I'm by myself

I feel like a lot of the time people who pray out loud in prayer circles and stuff like that do it from pride

Anything like that can have that potential, the Pharisees did it and the Lord rebuked them for it, though they would do it in the streets to look righteous, if it's a group of believers alone in a room, ya know, then it's less likely to be about pride

but even then ya know

the enemy will tempt us in any way he/they can tempt us

so we need to keep a tight reign on our heart and tongue

stay true to the Gospel, it is really really important to stay close to the Word, the Bible itself is a miracle and the primary way God speaks to His people

Jesus used the Scripture against the devil in the wilderness, as a lesson to us

in Ephesians 6 the Scripture is called the SWORD of the SPIRIT

it is our weapon against the enemy

I would implore you to seek out that old time religion, as they say, 100% stick with the Bible as the Word of God

we have to stand for something, or we'll fall for anything

I'm not sure where you're at, so please don't consider this an insult, but just in case you haven't/don't, I encourage you to read the entire New Testament, and then also do regular Bible readings daily

I think that people put the scripture they read before the spirit within sometimes. It should be the other way around.

That's what I mean. The Bible should be used to reinforce what you already know to be true within from the holy spirit.

I’m 17 so I still live with my mom. She has a lot of anger and it’s hard to ever talk to her. A lot of the times she won’t understand what I’m trying to say or doesn’t want to. If I explain(talk back) she pulls the famous “don’t speak to your mother like that”. My question is how and when should a argue with my mom. Should I even bother? And how does “respect thou father and mother” apply when you know what they’re asking you to do is out of anger, wrong, or unfair?
