37

2019-11-30 00:58:02 UTC

37.18 kg/m

2019-11-30 00:58:27 UTC

but this sorta thing is supposed to be exponential not linear

2019-11-30 00:58:31 UTC

so it makes sense i guess

2019-11-30 00:58:38 UTC

27.97kg/m (lune) 37.18kg/m (luci) 68.49kg/m (ralin)

anyone else?

2019-11-30 00:58:40 UTC

the taller you are the more volume you have exponentially

2019-11-30 00:59:03 UTC

so 68.49 isn't correct then

2019-11-30 00:59:08 UTC

more volume

2019-11-30 00:59:15 UTC

its not by volume

2019-11-30 00:59:16 UTC

this isn’t based on volume

2019-11-30 00:59:17 UTC

its by height

2019-11-30 00:59:18 UTC

in this case

2019-11-30 00:59:26 UTC

this is weight over height

2019-11-30 00:59:33 UTC

ah

2019-11-30 00:59:33 UTC

bmi is exponential

2019-11-30 00:59:34 UTC

this isnt

2019-11-30 00:59:40 UTC

if it was volume it’d be kg/m^3

2019-11-30 01:00:16 UTC

I'm always going to have a high BMI then because I weigh more than I look even when completely fit

2019-11-30 01:00:24 UTC

fine just do a log e of your result and you have LuneBMI

2019-11-30 01:01:23 UTC

like my ava pic as an example, my muscles are smaller there and I was 2 inches shorter but still weighed nearly 200 lbs

2019-11-30 01:01:32 UTC

the height being squared is because there is a decreasing marginal change as height reaches a point past the average height of the population they used to calculate the 703 number

2019-11-30 01:01:55 UTC
2019-11-30 01:02:30 UTC

200 lbs is pretty heavy afaik

2019-11-30 01:02:37 UTC

1.45 log(kg/m) (lune) 1.57 log(kg/m) (luci) 1.84 log(kg/m) (ralin)

2019-11-30 01:02:37 UTC

but i have a different body type i gues

2019-11-30 01:02:45 UTC

@Lucienne d'Anwyl yeah I was "obese" but I looked like my ava pic

2019-11-30 01:02:48 UTC

how does that work?

2019-11-30 01:02:53 UTC

what work

2019-11-30 01:03:06 UTC

being considered obese without being fat

2019-11-30 01:03:29 UTC

different people have different proclivity toward metabolizing, storing fat, and making muscles

2019-11-30 01:03:46 UTC

well it depends

2019-11-30 01:03:54 UTC

youd be termed medically obese if you were muscly

2019-11-30 01:04:06 UTC

and while having excessive muscles is a detriment to your health

2019-11-30 01:04:14 UTC

its a different detriment than normal obesity

2019-11-30 01:04:31 UTC

all it does is make it impossible for my arm to full extend lol

2019-11-30 01:05:00 UTC

like, I can't make my arm a straight 180 degrees

2019-11-30 01:05:06 UTC

more like 130-140

2019-11-30 01:06:12 UTC

1.45 log(kg/m) (lune) 1.57 log(kg/m) (luci) 1.71 log(kg/m) (us male average) 1.84 log(kg/m) (ralin)

2019-11-30 01:06:33 UTC

log?

2019-11-30 01:06:48 UTC

yes a log scale

2019-11-30 01:06:56 UTC

to stop it being exponential
