Its just fearmongering
We should care because they are other humans, but, on top of that it will eventually come back to effect us. It's not as if the whole world destabilizes, or half of the world, even just 1/10th, that it won't effect us
You have me confused. I am not saying "should' I am answering 'why'. From a national interest perspective there is a good argument to leave and let them kill each other. The only problem with that is that it leaves Russia in charge of Europe (if they want to keep the lights on).
There is a good chance of the various wars spreading
Just look at say, the immigration crisis in Europe, that has been pretty bad, and that's not even the spread of war itself
The consequences won't be confined to a specific geographic space just beucase the problems originate from there
There's no reason to believe they will just stay there and not go other places, be it to wage war or otherwise
1. I dnt care because they are savages. Hardly human. 2. I do not buy that it will effect us if we leave. Its effecting us by us staying
It's not very expensive to maintain a small troop presence, or costly in terms of lives
We didn't lose a single soldier the whole time they were in that region, but now if we have to do a reinvasion to keep a lid on things we will
Also letting Russia pull strings over europe cant be any worse then what the EU is up to.
We did lose a few soldiers in some anti ISIS stuff though
We lost our hard earned tax dollars
Not really that particular region but it's connected
millions
you act as if them standing around is free dude
It's not all that expensive to maintain it
What we need is for more troops to be on our southern border
In comparison to a larger war. But generally speaking military spending has a net positive impact on the economy
Yes the problems will spread. However we do not give a fuck. Because our borders are; Mexico, Canada, fish, and fish.
Let's say Europe falls right, that will effect us, so then we are by proxy effected by that
yet we cant build a 25 billion dollar wall
that has nothing to do with the middle east obviously
It's all political
The left won't fund the law, as you need more votes to fund a law but not neccessarily to pass a law
Just goes to show you what our politicians priorities are.
It's a political tactic
Well it's the left
And making excuses for us to keep spending money over there... doesnt help.
But if we pull out of the middle east it's not as if hteir minds will change on the border
They will still not want to fund it
Imports are 12-15% of USGDP (depending on how you measure it) 2/3rds of that are in N. America. If Europe falls it would be a smaller hit than the mortgage crisis.
My idea has always been like some form of external funding like, some group builds it saying they'll build the whole wall for 1 dollar, but that company just builds it no matter what the price will be
6 trillion dollars in the middle east, sorry but I think its time we start reprioritizing.
Exports are really the issue, we make a lot of money by selling stuff to the rest of the world
The israelis have tons of money from us and arms. They can handle the region if they so choose
Our largest export is machinery and pumps ie. capital goods.
Same with europe. We are involved in NATO. If anything goes down we will show up to save their asses... dont you worry
in the meantime...
We need to focus on our homeland
