> larger emphasis and encouragement being placed on people to not use those particular businesses

2019-10-27 21:39:21 UTC

That doesn't work

2019-10-27 21:39:27 UTC

Else, we would have seen that happen.

2019-10-27 21:40:21 UTC

So how do we "encourage people to setup businesses"

2019-10-27 21:42:11 UTC

It works when there on other viable businesses to use, Look at Social Media for instance while there are competitors to Twitter and Facebook like Gab for instance most of those competitors have been demonised by the press that has led to many people fearing that it would be culturally inappropriate to use them, We need to flip that culture around and actively encourage people to use these alternatives to big businesses

2019-10-27 21:42:57 UTC

> competitors have been demonised by the press

2019-10-27 21:43:07 UTC

That just seems like the markets interacting with eachother

2019-10-27 21:43:09 UTC

And working. The free market press interacting with the free market social media.

2019-10-27 21:44:28 UTC

People can say what they like. Freedom of speech and press.

2019-10-27 21:44:43 UTC

Yes to an extent which is why we need to place further emphasis on the populace to ensure that wider culture is not affected as much by the Press

2019-10-27 21:45:07 UTC

There seems like a lot of requirements for your system to work 🤔

2019-10-27 21:45:56 UTC

It just needs a culture of entrepreneurship and a populace that is not influenced by media

2019-10-27 21:46:04 UTC

Both of which were the case in the past

2019-10-27 21:46:09 UTC

But not as much today

2019-10-27 21:46:19 UTC

Which is the reason it is not working as well today

2019-10-27 21:46:29 UTC

They were the case in the past

2019-10-27 21:46:36 UTC

People have always been influenced by the media

2019-10-27 21:46:43 UTC

More so in the past. Compared to today.

2019-10-27 21:46:51 UTC

I am not talking 10 or 20 years ago

2019-10-27 21:47:01 UTC

Yes. The media influenced them more then.

2019-10-27 21:47:29 UTC

If we go back the Media still existed in a much smaller capacity and if you go back even further the media was barley even a thing let alone an influencer

2019-10-27 21:47:49 UTC

The media has always been an influencer..

2019-10-27 21:47:57 UTC

Not to this capacity

2019-10-27 21:48:12 UTC

They were more so in the past..

2019-10-27 21:48:18 UTC

I disagree

2019-10-27 21:48:28 UTC

Nazi Germany funded radios for every German so that they could get state propaganda

2019-10-27 21:48:29 UTC

<:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>

2019-10-27 21:48:43 UTC

The Media is at it's strongest today then it ever was in the US in the past

2019-10-27 21:49:11 UTC

@Nathan James 123 And they funded those radios because most people before them did not have a radio to be influenced by the media

2019-10-27 21:49:45 UTC

Most people before then got their news from newspapers, as the majority of people in Europe did.

2019-10-27 21:49:59 UTC

*Newspapers which the Nazis had less control over, but I digress*

2019-10-27 21:50:03 UTC

Yes and those were not as influential as current media

2019-10-27 21:50:11 UTC

Yes, they were.

2019-10-27 21:50:16 UTC

They were literally the only media out there.

2019-10-27 21:50:40 UTC

If you wanted to know anything that was going on in your country, or the world then you read the newspaper...

2019-10-27 21:50:41 UTC

Our 24/7 Online Media is much more of an influencer then newspapers were

2019-10-27 21:51:21 UTC

Our media is much more diverse, there's was not.

2019-10-27 21:51:36 UTC

So influence was much higher back then

2019-10-27 21:52:19 UTC

You are assuming that the average person watches content from a diverse set of media companies

2019-10-27 21:52:26 UTC

Most don't

2019-10-27 21:57:19 UTC

The influence of the media was much more unified back then, compared to today which has a much more diverse opinion base and leanings
