Here's the thing: any good show, no matter the intended audience, *HAS* to include at least some storytelling and/or character elements that can (and often do) appeal to older audiences. Especially shows for kids, which will often be watched alongside their parents.
right
parents watching mlp with kids is fine, just as long as it doesn't become an obsession
i don't think that applied in the old days
MA: And that's why shows in the old days tended to be crap.
but then that was back when cartoons were exclusively for children
Anyone watching anything is fine
And no, they weren't
WHAT?
shows in the old days were 10x anything today
Looney Tunes were very much for everybody.
period
So were Hanna-Barbara.
know your audience
Turbo virgin cinge boomers moralfagging doesnt take away from a good piece of media
shows used to be for specific audiences and age groups
not all for one
Hell, the Flintstones and Jetsons were not intended for kids. They aired at prime time under the assumption that the kids had gone to bed.
Yeah.
I hate to say it, MA, but you're grossly overestimating your knowledge of the evolution of cartoons and TV programming.
Until the advent of television and the rise of parents' groups, cartoons were mostly seen as an all-ages thing.
given it's not something that is worth knowing you are probably right; men put away toys
there are no men anymore
sad
TV was originally advertised as a way to keep your kids quiet.
Shit like Looney Tunes (and others, by different companies) were supposed to be appetizers before feature films. As such, they had to have elements for all ages. When TV started to take over as a primary means of visual entertainment, it was only natural the same ideas and concepts would make the transition. Which is why you get shows, either live or animated, that had broad appeal for all ages and both sexes.
That’s good
We should just leave the concentration camps intact
They did nothing wrong
Fun fact
Because rdj is half an inch shorter than Gwyneth Paltrow
When recording scenes as Tony and Pepper, he wears platform shoes and she stays barefoot
To preserve the characters' canonical height difference.
