Back before meaning was lost, someone would get their hand chopped off for theft because theft was wrong. Now, with the grey, we demonize the shop owner for wanting to not have his goods stolen and angelicize the criminal because he must be a victim of something if he is resorting to stealing.

To take a grey position kind of throws everything upside down and invites moral collapse.
