They probably didn't want to give you a raise and keep that turnover higher.

I knew a guy who worked at Boeing that kept getting raises and objected to it because he knew they wanted to lay him off so they pushed him into that threshold.

Maybe not at that company but there's internal lists companies keep with your start dates and when it goes off for 2 years they start finding ways to fire you or lay you off.

I’m not arguing that there aren’t dicks who are rich just as there are dicks who are poor. Doesn’t mean they didn’t work hard to get where they are. It took 18 years to get where she’s at from college, she research’s cancer medication and most of my friends families who are wealthy are simply very skilled and not managers/owners or anything, how is their money dirty? Why is their money deserving to be taken?

I didn't say it deserves to be taken. I said the wealthy ignore the plights of the people that afforded them the ability to be where they are. Most research I know either comes from three places. Private funding, Public Funding, or School Funding which can be a mix of private and public. Unless it's private it's funded by taxes of people who don't want to be rich but don't want to have to choose between paying the rent and eating.

Private funding for research is pretty fucking rare.
