I'd generally agree with that except that the world that exists right now is a world that we created or at least one we maintained. So when we go home we should at least try to do it in a way that does not fuck the people who were born into a world we made. The Arabs and Persians are certainly going to murder each other the second we let them. I don't think there is much we can do about that. But we should at least try to leave in a way that doesn't screw everyone else.

If there is to be a world hegemon, let it be a nation whose values have generally led to an increase in peoples' standards of living. China doesn't give a fuck about maintaining anything they build, and are poised to become the latest exploitative empire in a long line of such. If we let them take our place in this position, the world will soon shrivel up and regress like you wouldn't believe.

China does not have that capacity. But I can see a way to withdrawal without abandoning those who rely on this world we made. Protectorates. We could charge other nations for our security oversight. Use those funds to pay for it. Recruit from treaty nations and show preferential migration status to those who serve a term.

The trade order is preserved. The military budget is differed to those who actually benefit from it. And migration is slanted towards those willing to give four years of their life in defense of America.
