Turkey doesn't benefit from being in NATO though..
The US has kicked them out of the F35 program, the US denied them Patriot for YEARS
They get art.5 as everyone else does
They've realised they're better off with someone else
I think there is more Russian involvement than what meets the eye
And that's why they're moving to Russias sphere.
Agreed, which needs to be stopped @RAM II
Pulling out of the ME will allow them to expand that influence
on no, Turkey can't get the _wonderful_ and _great_ failure of a plane that is F35. Whatever will they do.
Which is a bad thing for us.
Patriot as well? @leavethisbotnet
They were desperate to buy that for years
If we intervene with Russia we cause a whole different conflict
And you said no no no no no
So they bought elsewhere.
Patriot can't penetrate newest US stealth afaik
You're sanctioning them, so they'll get aid from elsewhere.
Let them
not at as long distances as S400 anyway
Do you understand how stealth works? @leavethisbotnet
It doesn't make an aircraft "invisible" forever
It makes it harder to detect that aircraft by radar
Meaning you need to be closer to it.
Why would they get Patriot, which is worse at detecting those planes than S400?
I know how it works
quite well, as I said
Because the Russians weren't offering it to them at the time..
And now they offered them the S400
And they're buying it
Lol
@Nathan James 123 Influence for what? Imports are 12-15% of our GDP and most of that is Canada and Mexico. We're one of the least connected economies on the planet.
Military influence abroad? Partners to work with abroad? Intelligence collaboration? Bases for ships? Airbases for aircraft? Power pojection.
Remove Mexico
Did you REALLY just ask that question? @Jym
Lmao
There's two kinds of power.
Economic
Hardpower (military) and softpower (economics)
The us was trying for both
As it should
