i mean its a federalist republic
not a democracy
clearly you didnt make it out of secondary school
American politics is incredibly narrow. We mainly disagree on about 5% of our laws and the direction of our culture. Outside of that we tend to have grumbles about taxes. There's so much drama about what we don't agree or there wouldn't be anything to talk about.
"a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections" @W1NT3R1SC0MING
Oh
Does that not happen?
"government by the people"
Does that not happen?
<:thinkgon:560211224923734026>
according to that definition democracy doesn't exist
We have democratic systems, we are not a democracy.

:brainlet:
So.. You don't vote? ...
The government isn't elected? ...
"a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people"
no such thing
certainly not true of america
Voting doesn't not equal democracy it equals democratic
You don't do that?
holy shit you really dont understand the difference between democracy and having a representative govt do you?
Am I missing something? I'm pretty sure you vote in elections for representitives whom have political power and can make changes to your country
LOL
That's democracy..
You are missing a lot of things
no its not
>Gerrymandering
>Democracy
Pick one
representative govt is democracy @W1NT3R1SC0MING
Representative government is the same as a democracy. That's why there's the term representative democracy.
Nathan James 123... Remember the comparison to Welfare to Socialism? That is what you are doing right now with this~
Whew boy
America is a Constitutional Republic
Why is everywhere saying you're a democracy?
Are they all lying?
They don't understand our system of Government
Oh, so they're all wrong?
And you're right.
If it were a Democracy, everything the Senate or House votes on would automatically become law
