How ironic would that be?

2019-10-08 11:16:16 UTC

It's not like the Irish _love_ the EU all that much, after the repeated referendums they were forced into.

2019-10-08 11:16:42 UTC

I'd actually like to see the UK join the US, not sure if I'd like it to be as a state tho

2019-10-08 11:16:50 UTC

Deep integration maybe

2019-10-08 11:17:07 UTC

But as a state... we just dont agree enough

2019-10-08 11:17:27 UTC

Once we're out and once we've recovered from the fact our government hasn't prepared for this like it should have; I'm sure more nations will follow.

2019-10-08 11:17:48 UTC

I'm sure of it too

2019-10-08 11:17:54 UTC

customs union with US might work

2019-10-08 11:17:55 UTC

Greece being one

2019-10-08 11:18:05 UTC

@leavethisbotnet that I could agree too

2019-10-08 11:18:19 UTC

That's fair wladfa. I find it humorous in the sense that US is the child of the UK, the UK is getting old and needs their children to look after them.

2019-10-08 11:18:56 UTC

I think that metaphor works if you awknowledge the long running regeneration that the UK does

2019-10-08 11:19:10 UTC

We're rather Vampiric.

2019-10-08 11:19:20 UTC

Like well have a stage of old age, and start to come back a bit

2019-10-08 11:19:27 UTC

Yaaa

2019-10-08 11:19:41 UTC

Our children protect us, we protect them

2019-10-08 11:19:44 UTC

It's all gravy

2019-10-08 11:20:04 UTC

We love you too son. Even if you are having another one of them... phases.

2019-10-08 11:20:13 UTC

HA

2019-10-08 11:20:49 UTC

Let's get FOS and RTBA in our constitution and get down the pub

2019-10-08 11:21:36 UTC

I can get behind the pub part.

2019-10-08 11:21:57 UTC

Itd be interesting to get the dollar and the pound bound together and then merge different parts of the economies

2019-10-08 11:22:00 UTC

Nothing else really matters when you've got a pub.

2019-10-08 11:22:18 UTC

What would it be? The Dollar Sterling?

2019-10-08 11:22:23 UTC

I'm sure our banking sector could do some amazing things to each other

2019-10-08 11:22:46 UTC

Um, I'm thinking the currencies on the street would stay the same but the exchange mechanism pinned

2019-10-08 11:24:04 UTC

So we bind the two currencies in order to create a monetary union on the base that both banks (FED and BOE) agree with policies

2019-10-08 11:24:06 UTC

Idk

2019-10-08 11:24:08 UTC

Reminds me of Red dwarf were the universal currency was dollarpounds

2019-10-08 11:24:29 UTC

Red dwarf makes accurate prediction

2019-10-08 11:24:39 UTC

I like this.

2019-10-08 11:25:41 UTC

I dont think anyone but the extreme left doesnt like the idea of the UK and the US getting closer again

2019-10-08 11:25:56 UTC

Closer but distinctly separate

2019-10-08 11:25:56 UTC

Think of the benefits both economies would have on each other

2019-10-08 11:26:08 UTC

@Joshu wouldn't have it any other way

2019-10-08 11:26:22 UTC

I'm not about to get out of bed with one empire and yeet into another

2019-10-08 11:26:24 UTC

The indy of each state must be protected

2019-10-08 11:26:33 UTC

That would be retarded

2019-10-08 11:26:44 UTC

I agree

2019-10-08 11:27:50 UTC

seems to me a good move would be to now ask the Northern Irish people in a ref if they are willing to have a separate CU from the UK...

If they vote "no" thats a win for the UK, since it would look bad on the EU to continue pushing.

If they vote "yes", then fair enough, just take a deal with the EU and brexit is done.

2019-10-08 11:28:48 UTC

Complete agreement, border poll when
