@Elkisab because white Hispanics are a demographic group

2017-07-23 09:36:31 UTC

@Rayo Jeff#6169 Are you familiar with the demographic transition concept ?

2017-07-23 09:36:41 UTC

They are Hispanic people who look Caucasian

2017-07-23 09:37:26 UTC

i do no see the point to separate into groups in US

2017-07-23 09:37:48 UTC

@Elkisab it's census data

2017-07-23 09:38:19 UTC

it sounds useless

2017-07-23 09:38:24 UTC

@Gavroche can I get a quick rundown?

2017-07-23 09:38:40 UTC

@Elkisab they collect data on everything

2017-07-23 09:39:02 UTC

Very simply, poor people make a lot of children that don't live long, rich people make few children that live long and well.

2017-07-23 09:39:47 UTC

@Gavroche so you're implying minority birth rates will lower - seeing as many live in poverty? I see this with the black community but I'm uninformed on the Hispanic community

2017-07-23 09:40:46 UTC

It's an universal law, we observe that all around the globe no matter the origines

2017-07-23 09:41:07 UTC

There is no atavism regarding to birth rate

2017-07-23 09:41:14 UTC

@Gavroche so do you think the census projections are correct or false?

2017-07-23 09:42:07 UTC

Can't say, not an expert in statistics, not yet. It depends of many factors

2017-07-23 09:43:27 UTC

But you're implying that seeing as they live in poverty, poor Hispanic communities will experience more child deaths than wealthier families? Based on what? Crime? Sickness?

2017-07-23 09:45:54 UTC

Well, in post-industrial countries such as the USA, even poor families experience few infantile mortality, but it exists, and their lifes are shorter due to socio-economic conjectures

2017-07-23 09:46:43 UTC

Plus, their birth-rate quickly copy the birth-rate of the country they live in

2017-07-23 09:47:16 UTC

Not if propaganda comes into play though. Most change is due to immigration

2017-07-23 09:48:38 UTC

I don't think their birth rate will copy America's either. Africa Americans have a huge birth rate but they kill each other so much they're making hardly any demographic change.

2017-07-23 09:51:34 UTC

I took a look at the census statistics, it seems like USA will remain mainly white even in 2050

2017-07-23 09:52:35 UTC

Well if you don't count Hispanic whites, they make up like 46%

2017-07-23 09:53:04 UTC

There's also a sensationalist meme that future Americans will all be mixed.

2017-07-23 09:54:22 UTC

Well, the thing is, the USA is historically an immigration country, it don't belongs to anyone but natives which are extinct for the most part

2017-07-23 09:54:27 UTC

I don't see it as a big deal

2017-07-23 09:55:28 UTC

I know, but isn't it awful that Hispanics are going to be double the black community and like 25x larger than the natives? Blacks and natives have a deep rooted history in America and they're being outdone. It's not fair on them.

2017-07-23 09:56:04 UTC

fairness is pretty subjective

2017-07-23 09:56:42 UTC

Most people would call it unfair.

2017-07-23 09:58:48 UTC

If the time you spent on a territory give you any rights upon it, well, natives should kick our ass off of the North and South America

2017-07-23 09:59:07 UTC

If you want fairness, there's one

2017-07-23 09:59:41 UTC

I'm not American.

2017-07-23 09:59:52 UTC

Natives will never have that chance.

2017-07-23 10:00:03 UTC

Indeed, but it would be fair

2017-07-23 10:01:02 UTC

That's out of the question, what isn't out of the question is natives someday increasing their birth rates. However, with this immigration, they will be overrun quickly.

2017-07-23 10:01:18 UTC

They're like 2% of the population

2017-07-23 10:02:41 UTC

It's not out of the question, you were implying a correlation between the time spent by a population on a territory and its rights upon it, I just put this thinking to its limits

2017-07-23 10:04:00 UTC

@Gavroche so natives are not linked to America?

2017-07-23 10:05:26 UTC

Of course they are, more than any europeans. So if immigration is an issue, it's an issue for natives

2017-07-23 10:05:53 UTC

@Gavroche that was my whole point

2017-07-23 10:06:09 UTC

You are a native ?
