Usually only say the Rosary

2017-07-26 16:34:07 UTC

@Gaelic particularism#9783 The rosary is fine.

2017-07-26 16:34:19 UTC

Alright

2017-07-26 16:34:22 UTC

I have nothing against cyrilic, it's a beautiful way of writing, but I hold that a mongol should write in mongol script, just as Chinese and Armenians should write in their own.

2017-07-26 16:34:43 UTC

Tbh it is completely impossible for the Mongols to return to their script. During the Russian empire days they went through Russification for years, and then when they got independence in 1921 they decided to stay with the Cyrillic system as the main language, meaning that nowadays it's impossible for it to be reversed.

2017-07-26 16:35:06 UTC

I agree with you, @Deleted User, but I also think it is impossible.

Losing your system of writing is the first step to losing your identity.

2017-07-26 16:35:41 UTC

Not having one is why the druids and pagans got btfo. Lmao.

2017-07-26 16:35:41 UTC

tell that to europe

2017-07-26 16:36:41 UTC

Thankfully the Mongols weren't as russified as others so they mostly preserved their identity.

2017-07-26 16:36:50 UTC

That's why you speak Latin. Ego sum optimum

2017-07-26 16:37:50 UTC

>latin

2017-07-26 16:37:54 UTC

😒

2017-07-26 16:38:00 UTC

Tu es non optimum, es malus

2017-07-26 16:38:10 UTC

at least it is preserved

2017-07-26 16:38:17 UTC

Est ludi, amicus

2017-07-26 16:38:20 UTC

Latin is the only reason why Christianity exists. God loves it.

2017-07-26 16:38:31 UTC

...that's not true, though

2017-07-26 16:38:44 UTC

for a long time the bibles were only written in Greek.

2017-07-26 16:38:46 UTC

It is, if you knew the history of the Church.

2017-07-26 16:38:54 UTC

I know that.

2017-07-26 16:39:26 UTC

There were many times when Greek failed to explain and Latin was needed to explain the Bible.

2017-07-26 16:39:51 UTC

Including the Trinity.

2017-07-26 16:39:57 UTC

I will believe you if you give me an example

2017-07-26 16:40:24 UTC

Dante loved Latin so much that... he didn't even write the Divine Comedy in Latin.

2017-07-26 16:41:43 UTC

uh

2017-07-26 16:41:52 UTC

I will save this for a later date. Thanks.

2017-07-26 16:42:06 UTC

High Middle Ages only existed because of Latin.

2017-07-26 16:42:49 UTC

Good joke.

2017-07-26 16:42:57 UTC

Any language could have served perfectly fine as the lingua franca.

2017-07-26 16:43:13 UTC

There is nothing inherently special about Latin.

2017-07-26 16:43:16 UTC

It is not magical.

2017-07-26 16:43:18 UTC

I am envious of your innocense.

2017-07-26 16:43:47 UTC

If Ancient Greek had remained the lingua franca, we would still be where we are today.

2017-07-26 16:43:52 UTC

Latin is not a magical language.

2017-07-26 16:43:55 UTC

It's just a language.

2017-07-26 16:44:12 UTC

That's false at many times in history. Law and theology.

2017-07-26 16:44:56 UTC

You should talk to a linguist about it and prepare to be humbled.
