@quiscalus Because single-payer is objectively superior. Numerous studies have shown that single-payer is far more efficient and cost-effective.

2017-12-05 10:16:18 UTC

I had no idea I thought your would still have hospitals and doctors trying to maximize their income as compared to having state control over such things

2017-12-05 10:16:37 UTC

@quiscalus There are plenty of audiobooks. YouTube is a good resource for this.

2017-12-05 10:17:34 UTC

cool I will download some I assume most of these books are in the public domain it would be awesome if leftypol had a project to make audiobooks out of them for projects like librivox

2017-12-05 10:18:09 UTC

lol I never thought I would have a Stalinist telling me single payer is better than nationalized healthcare

2017-12-05 10:18:40 UTC

@quiscalus Yeah. You can find all of the works I mentioned on the internet and access them at no-charge.

2017-12-05 10:19:06 UTC

thanks dude I think the chat is way more chill here than the board

2017-12-05 10:19:20 UTC

also what is with the split between leftpol and leftypol?

2017-12-05 10:19:43 UTC

@quiscalus It is better than privatized medicine, but socialized, universal-healthcare is the way to go.

2017-12-05 10:20:21 UTC

@quiscalus I have no idea. I've never even been to leftpol.

2017-12-05 10:20:45 UTC

that is what I mean when I say nationalized healthcare

2017-12-05 10:21:53 UTC

state owned hospitals and doctors being employees of the state and compared to single payer having insurance for everyone but the providers are still private aka doctors and hospitals

2017-12-05 10:23:28 UTC

sorry I have terrible headache from the fumes after cleaning my apartment and am far less articulate than normally lol

2017-12-05 10:29:14 UTC

bread came out ok https://imgur.com/a/V1QAX

2017-12-05 10:37:29 UTC

@quiscalus Yeah, I'm definitely against that. I don't believe the medical sector should be privatized at all. And no worries, you sound just fine. Hopefully your headache subsides soon, inhaling fumes is never an enjoyable experience lol.

2017-12-05 10:37:41 UTC

Also, kudos on the bread. It came out great.

2017-12-05 10:38:23 UTC

it is ok not the best looking but tastes great just cut up some with my roomies while it is hot from the oven and slamming some with butter

2017-12-05 10:38:43 UTC

I fancy myself to be something of a chef as well. I love making homemade breads.

2017-12-05 10:38:57 UTC

The ladies love it too.

2017-12-05 10:39:00 UTC

Haha

2017-12-05 10:39:18 UTC

yeah since I been taking more time off from work to qualify for state insurance I have had more time to bake

2017-12-05 10:39:55 UTC

yeah I make some cookies for my family I visited since my adopted siblings rarely get treats like that

2017-12-05 10:40:16 UTC

Good for you. It's nice to get away from the alienating grind once in a while and explore your passions.

2017-12-05 10:40:57 UTC

people always tell me to get into the culinary field in regards to work but the people I know say it is super demanding and pays very little

2017-12-05 10:41:22 UTC

I hate the idea of something I enjoy being turned into a horrible job that destroys my life

2017-12-05 10:41:52 UTC

Yeah, I've heard that as well. I actually considered going to culinary school when I was 19 or so but decided against it due to anecdotal reports from friends and family.

2017-12-05 10:42:30 UTC

being a security guard is a pretty cool job because you have lots of free time to listen to and watch stuff

2017-12-05 10:43:22 UTC

No doubt. I actually worked as an unarmed security guard for a few months before the company I worked for filed for bankruptcy. I did residential and commercial security.

2017-12-05 10:43:53 UTC

my job is to pretty much protecting the boss from workers breaking the rules but my boss is a dude who exploits people who are the lowest economically in society felons and immigrants

2017-12-05 10:44:31 UTC

yeah my job is pretty much chill except for random people walking in off the streets who might be a little bit crazy

2017-12-05 10:44:44 UTC

Yeah, sounds like a few managers I've encountered in the past.

2017-12-05 10:45:18 UTC

I dealt with crazy as well when I worked in a guard house, lol.

2017-12-05 10:45:23 UTC

it is hard to organize at my work because it is people who are afraid to lose their job because this is their last chance in american society, if they lose this paycheck it could destroy them

2017-12-05 10:45:55 UTC

I am afraid of losing my job for my politics despite not being very radical

2017-12-05 10:46:52 UTC

I work in agriculture and the laws are set up to strip rights from the poorest people in society, like in agriculture you don't have to pay overtime for overtime work you just get the standard rate

2017-12-05 10:46:58 UTC

Yeah, that's always a rough situation. If you're genuinely committed to making a change, the best thing to do would be to contact an organization like the IWW who have professional organizers that may be able to assist you in your endeavors.

2017-12-05 10:47:55 UTC

I have been homeless and had to sleep on my friends and families floor and couches I just fear other workers are so used to the exploitation they are afraid to speak up and demand better treatment and pay

2017-12-05 10:47:55 UTC

I'm actually a former Wobblie lol.
