I am a bit skeptical that the material conditions of a wealthy western democracy like ourselves would break down to the point of civil war without serious political devisions
@quiscalus It won't happen for political reasons, but for economic reasons, the biggest being that oil will become too expensive to use, therefore making it impractical to use, shutting down the worlds economy.
No oil means no transporting, no transporting means that goods don't get shipped, when goods don't get shipped cities turn into warzones, with anarchy ruling.
I think as people realize the view on how America functions aka meritocracy with infinite upward economic mobility is false people are more willing to adopt alternative political views
I see that happening as rust belt workers become reactionaries and embrace the right, I think the left fails to appeal to them especially pushing idpol
