I heard a victim of statutory rape tell his story

he was 13 at the time, and at first yeah he thought "this is great, I can make this decision, I'm mature"

and when it started he immediately tried to get out of it and got guilt-tripped into staying with his abuser for years

eventually when he explained things to investigators, he just broke down crying

and this wasn't even violent, he was being groomed
