If you were the Indian government with American bases in Pakistan you would buy Russian. It’s the sensible thing to do

2019-08-02 19:15:56 UTC

By 2030 India’s population will overtake China. A few decades after that it’s likely their GDP will too

2019-08-02 19:16:45 UTC

>The us should fully support India in the Kashmir issue and embargo China but not India to undermine China and win over India.

Ehh, not gonna happen. The issue is strictly between Pakistan and India, an accord (Simla agreement) was signed back in the 1970s. China? Maybe, but that's only due to the nation's proximity.

2019-08-02 19:17:10 UTC

So yeah, a bilateral issue.

2019-08-02 19:18:00 UTC

I know The is won’t do it but it would be the smart thing to do. Although I have to say my bad on this one. We should have had a religiously secular state of the raj

2019-08-02 19:18:23 UTC

So for that I’ll swallow my pride that was Britain’s fault

2019-08-02 19:19:39 UTC

>By 2030 India’s population will overtake China. A few decades after that it’s likely their GDP will too
Unlikely, China's GDP is much larger and India's growth rate is not going to be enough to match China.

2019-08-02 19:20:21 UTC

>By 2030 India’s population will overtake China. A few decades after that it’s likely their GDP will too

False. India will never overtake China. All indicators point towards a slowing/stagnant India. A study done by an Indian advisor to Modi has found that Indian government has exaggerated their economic growth. A 3-4% annual growth is more exact, not the 7% figure given by the Indian government.

2019-08-02 19:20:52 UTC

Even with those exaggerated figures in mind, India is no longer the fastest growing economy.

2019-08-02 19:21:12 UTC

China’s economy is based on a primary and secondary economy. As it westernises company’s costs will rise. We saw it in the USA. They will move from China to India

2019-08-02 19:21:21 UTC

Its economics

2019-08-02 19:21:33 UTC

Holy fucking shit. Big news.

2019-08-02 19:21:54 UTC

The UK* and France overtook them.

2019-08-02 19:22:11 UTC

as per the recent figures released by the World Bank

2019-08-02 19:22:34 UTC

Well GDP does fluctuate. We are nearing a global recession so a flicker in the chart doesn’t mean that much

2019-08-02 19:22:56 UTC

Also the US was always ahead of India

2019-08-02 19:23:02 UTC

They never came close

2019-08-02 19:23:12 UTC

I think you mean the UK

2019-08-02 19:23:20 UTC

GDP doesn't fluctuate by that much

2019-08-02 19:24:07 UTC

Well India is transitioning from a primary to a secondary economy. There will naturally be teething troubles

2019-08-02 19:24:16 UTC

And the major consumer countries would most likely show signs of a recession first.

2019-08-02 19:25:56 UTC

China outstrips India in terms of primary economy.

2019-08-02 19:26:17 UTC

We’re in a leftypol group for god sake so you should know best. When costs rises companies save costs. If that means moving they’ll do it. When costs rise in China they will naturally move to India. It’s the second biggest country in Asia

2019-08-02 19:26:37 UTC

For now. China has had a bit of a head start on India

2019-08-02 19:27:36 UTC

India has had internal religious troubles and war with Pakistan

2019-08-02 19:29:25 UTC

>When costs rise in China they will naturally move to India.

That's not what companies are there for. Labour costs in China have almost doubled in the last 10 years, yet companies still have yet to relocate -- why's that? It's because of the pure amount of qualified Chinese workers available.

2019-08-02 19:30:19 UTC

For a company like Apple? They won't relocate for the foreseeable future. For companies like Nike? They have mostly migrated to South-East Asia, to countries like Thailand and Vietnam.

2019-08-02 19:30:27 UTC

@DOg i would like to take the time to say it’s nice to talk to someone in a balanced and sensible manner. Thank you for this conversation. And about your point the workers will move too and there is a tipping point

2019-08-02 19:30:48 UTC

And I’m talking in the next 10-30 year

2019-08-02 19:31:05 UTC

Anything is possible in 30 years.

2019-08-02 19:31:45 UTC

As a Pakistani what’s your opinion on two things. One Pakistan’s new president?

2019-08-02 19:32:12 UTC

@DOg and two cricket

2019-08-02 19:32:25 UTC

Largely OK. But Martial rule should be imposed upon Sindh.

2019-08-02 19:32:37 UTC

and cricket? Don't really watch it

2019-08-02 19:33:24 UTC

I'm not opposed to governor rule for Sindh as an alternative.

2019-08-02 19:34:20 UTC

Always sort of liked the sport. And for Pakistan I think they should take some power away from the Islamic leadership and give it too the Pakistani government. Radical Islam is repulsive to tourists and can destabilise a country like in the west of Pakistan

2019-08-02 19:36:20 UTC

Islamic radicalism has never been too much of a problem, the army always maintained a vigilant eye on the situation. The problem is Ethnic nationalism instigated by a few select individuals, who themselves are nefariously backed by a few foreign influences.
