it must have worked to some degree

Yeah HEMA

yeeaa

2019-06-16 23:41:14 UTC

whats it like

2019-06-16 23:42:57 UTC

Well HEMA is full contact so we can grapple with the opponent, we use metal swords but they are not sharp, and we read from texts created during the renaissance as a base for it

2019-06-16 23:43:40 UTC

interesting

2019-06-16 23:44:01 UTC

you still wear body protection tho right

2019-06-16 23:45:02 UTC

Oh yeah, not so much full plate armor as much as padded clothes, they are thick enough to avoid injury tho

2019-06-16 23:45:27 UTC

what type of swords do you use

2019-06-16 23:46:54 UTC

I do longword mostly, and that is the main thing taught in class, but we have used Spears, rapiers, and dusaq(a cutlass like blade), tho only occasionally

2019-06-16 23:47:29 UTC
