the nuke wasn't something that they never seem coming

the US warned japan by dropping thousands of pamphlets or leaflets over both cities

weeks in advance

but the japanese government purposely told their citizens to stay and not worry

because they wanted a higher death count

because they wanted to paint themselves as the victim

the US only targeted those cities because of the military bases and industries there

about 30 or 40% of the deaths were of soldiers

japan never had any trails like germany

well

they had a few

but alot of their war criminals were exonerated

and are seen as heros to their country

like tojo

well i forgot to add they surrendered cause russia joined too lol

there are movies about his court case completely humanizing and victimizing him

well that too

if the US didn't nuke them

millions would have died

so idk

the nukes ended the war

i wouldn't say that is their only punishment or punishment enough
