I would say that's alright. Drinking is rooted in European culture even if it was very low content drinks

A drink with a meal is fine

However getting together just to drink and pass out is extremely self-destructive

I have done it twice. I woke up at 3 in the afternoon and threw up. It disgusts me

I would say that drinking to be social as I have just layed out is OK, but when you start to stumble/loose vison and become a different person, eg. more violent, jumped up etc. That is degeneracy.

The only alcohol I have ever consumed was when my dad let me drink part of his beer once.

My mother and sister are degenerates and get drunk several times a week, I have watched the cycle of destruction first hand.

I think there’s also a factor of competence and common sense. If you are drinking for the sole purpose of getting drunk, you’re an idiot. Having a drink on certain occasions is fine.
