I’m sort of experimenting with this idea for the setting which is basically, a lot of people sealed themselves off in These bunkers across the planet, which were interconnected at somepoint

However, due to the planet’s fall, many of them were cut off and were pretty much forgotten

As for the people inside them, most either would starve to death, turn into stark raving lunatic cannibals, or just plain diseased zombie things

is it a kind of "futuristic WWI steampunk" style that you're aiming for?

enough that its doable and looks the part, but not enough to ruin the whole post apocalyptic future thing

there is an event in Stellaris where a civilization retreated underground from a nuclear winter and all died off when food ran out but uploaded their consciousness into a super computer. could be an idea for how to do it

lots of cool ways to go from there but may have to make a few drastic jumps of logic to do it

the idea i mentioned above was mostly part of the world building thing actually

ahh so more of a backround idea or backstory than any actual plot point

yeah its a detail that's supposed to "drive conflict" for lack of a better term

could be a "lurking threat" to use later on, sci fi isnt usually my thing but was always disappointed the game never took the idea anywhere beyond the introduction

I had an idea based on something that actually happened to someone close to me.

Y'know how I'm always talking about Post Trauma? Reason I know so much is because something happened to someone close to me. I read up on it because I wanted to understand what had happened to her.

Alright, so the real life version of this is: A woman close to me was having problems with her relationship with her boyfriend. I figured this out through my sister, because my sister and I knew her growing up. One day she like totally cuts me out of her life, I wanna know why. Just out of the blue, this woman won't respond to texts, calls, anything.

And so I eventually after a year of this I say like "Y'know, I've offered that whatever's happening in your life, you can trust me. But you still haven't gotten back to me, so I'm ready to just delete your number and forget you ever existed."

So my sister calls me up, and she has my friend's boyfriend with her, and they offer to meet me at the coffee shop to discuss exactly what's happening.

Boyfriend got suspicious when he heard my friend was making up lies about where she had been. He starts asking her questions, but she adamantly maintains that she was where she told him she was. He asks the phone company for records on her cell phone, and there are naked pictures of her with two other men. But there's something wrong in the pictures. She won't face the camera. Every time there's one of these pictures, it looks like she's hiding her face on purpose. So this doesn't seem to be...something where there's total consent.

So the police get involved. Turns out, these two guys were sexual predators, and they had actually dug into psychology to intentionally provoke PTSD in the people they went after.

They used psychological techniques to lure women to places where they would be vulnerable, then used PTSD to make sure that they would black out once these things started happening.

Remember how this woman adamantly insisted that she hadn't been lying?
