the plot hook is finding a wizard's lab that was studying mimics
did one for Ankhegs but I lost the text
Nice. 5 E or 3.5?
5E
also did stuff for Hollow Earth as well
LOL No one asks "4.0?"
Does anyone need to?
I've always been told that 4E was awful
It's all I ever played. (Not by choice.)
Oh, it was miserable.
I got all the books for 5E and resources up for a campaign
It's a large part of what inspired me to create my own system.
The running joke in my campaign was that the conspiracy theorists at the taverns would say that the Underdark doesn't really exist, it's all a hoax, and would suggest the players look into "Solid Earth Theory."
XD uhm, hollow earth is it's own system and setting based on the old pulp series
Right, but it's also a conspiracy theory with 100% convinced believers.
would be funny to add "Solid earth" conspiracy theorists
They seriously believe mole people are a thing living in a massive civilization below ground, with a giant light-bulb energy source.
will say the creators of the system get props for not apologizing for their use of nazis in game
Anybody who apologizes for using Nazis in their games is stupid, I don't care how offensive they are, everyone fucking loves killing Nazis.
these are pulp fiction nazis so you get some craziness like indiana jones face melting nazis stuffs
mhm
stuff isn't dieselpunk but it could easily be translated if it weren't for the rest of the setting like the dinosaurs or the atlantean prison in Antarctica
or traveling to mars and meeting 8 foot tall 4 armed women
Sounds like the old Jules Verne/ Edgar Rice Burroughs stuff.
that's what pulp is, or at least the stuff that the creators of the hollow earth system took heavy inspiration from
here's a list of what they used for inspiration
the list of books is on another two pages
Yeah, I know what pulp is. I grew up with it. LOL
I'm just a little medicated right now.
ah, I'm still kind of ignorant about like 99% of the settings but I know they did quite a bit with it
Sort of funny that they used all the old pulp sources *except* the books and pulp magazines.
the books and magazines are on another page
takes like 2 pages
Durr...Sorry, my mistake.
Walking away before I embarass myself more.
(Not fast enough, apparently. LOL)
nah you're fine man
Hey, if you're doing a DnD game, why not add the Mongoose and Meerkat from Jim Breyfogle's series? They're characters in a series of sword and sorcery short stories published by Cirsova Magazine. Last year a collection of those short stories was produced and content for DnD campaigns drawn up. You can find out more about it here: https://cirsova.wordpress.com/2020/04/21/and-almost-finished-with-game-content/
I'll have to look at it later, built a west marches that I'm trying to get off the ground
