Nah active is where it's at. Might as well send it and go all the way instead of the weekend crap. Sure it's crappy half the time but the other half is pretty good for the most part

There's a trade off. The question is, do you want to hate your life half the time, but make really good friends and have great stories and benefits? Or do you want to only have a weekend a month (and a two week annual drill) where you hate life, but not have as great comradery or benefits?

If you find the right place on AD, I highly recommend it. It is a great experience, but remember to be careful and think about what you're doing. It's a 4 year contract minimum, so you better enjoy the job you choose.

Back when i was homeschooled for like 2 years, the head teacher's father was a ww2 vet and was part of an Artillery Crew, and thats probably what got me interested in Artillery in general to begin with

Recon is typically a light infantry route.

For that you'd have to join the PPCLI 3rd brigade as you're in Calgary.

JTF-2 isn't better

They're just more focused on counter-terrorism and hostage rescue while CSOR is more focused on typical military special operations.
