Is there a cheap size chart for fishing flies? I found some of my dad's old fly gear, and I can't tell what size the flies are. The only charts I can find online are really expensive for what they are.

.308 should be more common, at least without the ammo shortage.

6.5 is better past 500 yards but they are about the same before

I would stick with .308 for many reasons. Price, its more common. More of an ammo selection. It carries its energy farther because of weight. (for the most part). And there is more platforms in a .308. You should look into older rifles.
